About the Artist:
"My name is Chelsey Hornsby, a self-taught abstract painter working from my home-based studio in New Westminster, BC. I paint on canvas and wood using acrylics, graphite and oil pastels. I hold a degree in interior design, which plays an important part in my process and artwork. Being a designer demands structured creativity, so painting allows me to express myself in a more indulgent and liberal way. I consciously integrate design elements like colour, form, balance, shape and scale into my work hoping to create pieces that conceptually stimulate, while evoking a sense of honesty."
